Overcoming Mental Blocks by Mishi
Theodore Roosevelt once said “believe in yourself and you’re halfway there.” When I had first joined my Taekwondo school's sparring team, I used to go into matches thinking about all the things that could go wrong, all the mistakes I could make, and all the ways I could lose. Thankfully, along with the intense training, our coach always reminds us that how we think about training matters. He tells us that we need to trust ourselves and follow through without hesitation.
With these constant reminders, I have noticed a positive change in my approach to sparring, and it helped me perform better in my last tournament. These reminders have served me outside of Taekwondo as well, in other areas of my fitness and in school. Throughout our fitness journeys, we might all face obstacles and moments of doubt. So, remember the tip below: Tip: “Believe in yourself and you’re halfway there” #FitnessMindset
